Capsicum annuum
HEIRLOOM. This variety is the pepper that is pickled for sandwich shops, salad bars, and pizza places all over the U.S. and might just be the most famous pickled pepper around! Also goes by the name friggitello (plural friggitelli), Salonika pepper, and Tuscan pepper. It’s a mild, sweet Italian pepper with a hint of bitterness, which is what makes them such good pickles. Elongated fruits are 2-4″ at maturity, and best picked when they are a sunny yellow-green color.
70 days to maturity after transplant.
